Whether you are a seasoned home business owner, or just starting a work from home business, you need to have a business blog and make new post to it on a regular basis. By doing this, you establish yourself as an expert in your niche, build relationships with your visitors, get backlinks to your website, and get free traffic.

By getting your visitors to read your blog on a regular basis, it will help you greatly in generating sales, opt-ins and a good relationship with your visitors. The challenge is to make your blog interesting and informative, yet enjoyable to read.

Here are some tips for writing a great blog post:

Write Your Own Articles

You should write your own articles for your posts. Make them unique, informative, and interesting. Establish yourself as an expert in your niche. Be sure to use your keywords in the title and the body of your article.

Easy to Read

Your post should “flow” and be easy to read. Keep your paragraphs shorts, if necessary include subheadings to break up the text. It is also a good practice to highlight key information by using bullet points or a numbered lists.

Knowledge

People often read blogs to gain information or insights into particular subjects. Try to teach within your blog posts. Try to answer questions that people are asking in forums or fixes to problems received through your comments. Share your expert knowledge and establish yourself as a credible source for information.

Length

Most people don’t have the time to read through a long blog post of thousands of words. Keep your posts fairly short, and if necessary break it up into separate posts, if the article is too long. Try to keep it between 300-500 words, but be sure to cover the main points of your article.

Personality

A great blog post is entertaining, as well as informative. Allow your personality to shine through in your writing. Include humor, anecdotes, and personal experiences to the information you are writing about.

Comments

The best blogs encourage their readers to get involved and contribute to the conversation. You need to do this also. Then take the time to reply to the comments which people make.

As work from home business owners, we need to take advantage of writing a great blog post. You will get free traffic to your website, and establish yourself as an expert in your niche. If you are able to answer your visitors questions, give them a solution to their problem, or give out great information, they will return to your blog. This will increase your opportunities to make sales.
